Managing diverse team of buyers and analysts.General Responsibilities:Defining buying cycle and forecasting market trends in concerned categories for the successive yearsIdentifying, Preparing and planning for each buying seasonAnalyzing consumer behavior and recommending change in strategies accordinglyDeveloping Planograms and display strategies and ensuring implementationPlanning for risk mitigation and quality assurance for each lotItem and Vendor SelectionDetermine regional distribution of items' quantitiesTracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessVendor portfolio management: Cost and trade terms negotiationPlanning for transit times for each locationPerform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarkingPresent monthly financials and progress to ManagementRegularly reviewing performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels;Managing plans for stock levelsJob SpecificationKnowledge & SkillsProven working experience as purchasing manager or sourcing agentFamiliarity with sourcing and vendor managementAcute knowledge of developments in market with regards to product and trendsKnowledge of urban buying trends and preferences (both Karachi and Punjab)Exposure of attending international trade fares and exposA knack for negotiation and networkingAbility to gather and analyze data and to process numbersStrong leadership capabilitiesDemonstrated understanding of seasonal preferences, competitors, health and any other risks with regards to products, quality standardQualificationMinimum graduation, preferably in supply chain or logistics, from a reputable institute.ExperienceMinimum 10 years' experience in buying or distribution of plastic ware, kitchen & cook ware, decoration items, crockery, home appliances, gifts, preferably with a renowned modern retail trade brand.
