Manual QA Engineer

Ensure seamless software functionality and adherence to documentation, playing a crucial role in our product developmentJob ResponsibilitiesThe Manual QA Engineer must be able to:Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured testing documentation from the beginning.Estimate, prioritize, plan, and perform testing activities.Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.Liaise with internal teams to identify system requirements, and improve development procedures.Participate in feature discussions and provide feedback before the task is prepared for the developer to ensure there are no unanswered or unnoticed questions/concerns.Initiative and Ownership:Self-starter who enjoys taking initiative.Capable of seeing tasks through from conception to completion.Communication Skills:Excellent communicator in both verbal and written English.Emphasizes the importance of communication and believes in avoiding oversight.Values over-communication as a critical aspect of collaboration.Work Quality and Craftsmanship:Takes pride in the quality and craftsmanship of work.Pays attention to detail rather than simply completing tasks for the sake of completion.Mentoring and Collaboration:Enjoys mentoring peers and assisting in their professional development.Has a willingness to help peers "level up" in their skills.Comfortable with tasks of all sizes, indicating adaptability and flexibility.Feedback and Collaboration:Comfortable giving critical feedback to peers in a respectful and productive manner.Demonstrates resilience by not taking feedback personally.Job RequirementsProven work experience in web software quality assurance, 3+ years.Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.Good knowledge of software development methodology and software lifecycleExperience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.Experience with Git and working with different branches Testing 3rd-party integrations (payment and marketing providers). English at the upper intermediate level or higher.Previous freelance or remote work experience.Personal Computer with Internet AccessAvailable for occasional video/ audio meetings outside of working hours to overlap with different time zones.Bonus if you also have:Experience with WordPress.Experience with performance and/or security testingKnowledge and practical experience with MySQL and database structure
