About the role: At Vantage, the Actuarial Analyst, Reserving will provide reserving support to a variety of insurance and reinsurance lines written out of Bermuda. This position will be integral in carrying out the reserving process and in building out the analysis and tools needed for robust reserve estimation. The position will report to the Senior Reserving Actuary, Bermuda. This role is located in Bermuda. Relocation is not provided. The base salary expectation for this role is between $80,000 and $125,000. Actual base salary for the selected candidate may be higher commensurate with candidate experience and expectations. Additionally, Vantage offers its colleagues performance-based bonus potential, strong health & welfare benefits, retirement plan benefits, competitive time off plans, a highly flexible work environment, and much more.Responsibilities & Accountabilities:Perform reserve analysis, leveraging internal and external data and intelligenceCollaborate closely with pricing, claims, finance, and data/analytics to ensure well-informed assumptions and methodologies for reservingAssist with building and maintaining relevant reserving methods, tools and monitoring metrics to aid in reserve analysis and support the businessAssist in creating quarterly reports, presentations and other materials for various audiencesContribute to adherence to local regulatory requirements and actuarial best practices within reserving analysisFind innovative and creative ways to leverage data and analytics to support the reserving functionIdeal Candidate Profile:1 - 4 years of actuarial experience requiredBachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, statistics, economics, or a related field; or the equivalent in work experienceTwo or more exam passes preferred and / or strong desire to pursue qualification with either the CAS or the IFOA (qualification with other recognized actuarial societies may also be considered)Prior experience within the P&C insurance and/or reinsurance industry focused on reserve analysis preferredSkilled with Excel and other reporting tools (such as PowerBI)Experience in scripting or programming languages is a plus (VBA, R, Python, SQL)Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate with business partners such as claims, finance, accounting, underwriting, IT, and data & analyticsEffective at prioritizing and managing various tasks in a dynamic work environmentOur Vantage ValuesDo What's Right - be a force for good, for our customers, shareholders, colleagues, industry and communitiesBe Relentlessly Curious - ask questions, listen to understand, challenge the status quo, look for ways to say YES, drive innovation, be opportunistic and disciplinedWe're Better Together- collaborate, be inclusive, supportive, respectful and humble, be a trusted partner internally and externallyBe Transparent - in who you are, what you think, and how you work, seek and provide alternative points of view, be true to yourselfMake A Difference -focus on impact, embrace technology, leverage data and analytics as critical assets, act intentionally to deliver on our mission We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
