Software QA Engineer

Testing & Quality Assurance (Information & Communication Technology) We’re looking for multiple Software Quality Assurance Engineers to join our software development team in Malaysia. Our team is primarily based in Australia working closely with our Malaysian team. We are expanding our team and testing capability in Malaysia. As a QA Engineer for Blitzm, you will be required to analyse and understand the purpose and needs for applications across a wide variety of industries. You will need to be able to plan and write test cases, perform manual application testing, document detailed test results and clearly communicate potentially complex issues to the rest of the team and clients in English. We use TestRail for application test management and reporting of manual tests. If you also have capability to write automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, this will also be highly valued. You will need to have self sufficiency and commitment to be a key part of our new and growing team. Initially, you will need to work from home but once we have organised an office space, likely in Kuala Lumpur you may need to work from that office. In this role you will have the potential to grow with the company and develop your already demonstrated experience. We want someone who is excited by this potential.    HOW YOU CAN HELP The following will be core activities required in the position:

• Analyse software applications to understand testing requirements.
• Designing and writing software test cases.
• Create and execute test plans.
• Testing for both web and mobile applications.
• Testing and monitoring REST APIs.
• Communicating issues with the development team.
• Communicating technical topics with the team and clients.

Experience with the following will also be highly valued:

• Designing and writing Selenium tests.
• Designing and writing Appium (or other mobile) tests.
• Developing unit tests for various platforms (C#/.Net and Python/Django).
• Configuring test automation as part of CI/CD pipelines.
• Improving our processes and increasing automation.  

ABOUT YOU

• A computer science or software engineering tertiary qualification. Please share your GPA or academic record.
• Greater than 3 years professional experience in software quality assurance.
• Experience with TestRail.
• Experience in remote software development processes and tools.
• Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
• Must have experience with:
• Designing and writing software test cases.
• Designing and executing test plans.
• Communicating complex technical issues.
• Using a test management tool such as TestRail.
• Experience working with the following would be highly valued:
• Writing Selenium tests
• Writing Appium tests
• Writing unit tests
• Other testing approaches
• .Net Core development
• React development
• React Native development
