Job Description Our client is part of an award-winning design cooperative of global specialists, working in remote & exotic locations, associated with bespoke design and construction of low carbon buildings and regenerative landscapes for hospitality resorts. They require a mechanical draughtsperson to join the team of this vibrant globally focused company. PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB: Collaborate and develop steel, natural construction material and fabric structure designs with architects, project engineers and technical specialists through mechanical and structural drawings. Develop detailed fabrication drawings with specifications & fabrication procedures and instructions and participate in overseeing fabrication in global centres Generate layout and schematic orthographic views depicting functional relationships of components, assemblies and systems in 3D models Generate BOQ's & participate in cost estimation Review & analyse ideas, sketches, drawings, specifications to assess factors affecting component and structure designs Upskill yourself to form part of installation teams employing your design work progressing ultimately to playing a key role in project installations. SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong analytical, technical & design skills Modeling skills (3D) of structural steel, steel components including CnC fabrication, utilizing AutoCAD. Previous experience with Tekla software would be an advantage Proficiency in Excel Ability to utilize Sketchup is essential. Experience using Form Finding software would be an added advantage QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Diploma from a recognized tertiary institution Experience in an engineering environment (3 to 5 years) or email us: engineering.jobs@staffingprojects.co.za
