Air Chefs Chief Executive Officer

Air Chefs role reports directly to the CEO of SAA and the Air Chefs Board of Directors.The successful incumbent's primary focus is to implement the strategic objectives of Air Chefs aligned to the overallbusiness strategy by providing direction and leadership for the company towards the attainment of said objectives and goals.This role will be accountable and responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable development of Air Chefs entireoperations. Principal Accountabilities Budget Preparation and ManagementActively monitors the process improvement expenditure and service delivery against plans and budgetsSeeks high value net profit opportunitiesEmbarks on cost containment initiatives in order to maximise the benefits realisation business initiativesManagement of Stakeholder Networks and partnershipsStrategic reporting and improvementExecutive Team Support and ManagementExecute Air Chefs strategyEnsure that the operations of Air Chefs comply with health and safety standardsEnsure efficient, cost-effective delivery of products and servicesEngage the Air Chefs Board of Directors on strategic issues to ensure their support and co-operation Ensures the effective management of the Human Resources of Air ChefsBuild capacity to enable achievement of Air Chefs strategy and planDrive culture through empowered leadership and active culture custodianshipManagement of Air Chefs initiativesManage process improvement projects from conception to completion, ensuring the intended objectives are met within the required timeframes specified in the project plan Qualifications & Experience Honours Degree in business/logistics/transport economics or relatedMaster's degree e.g. MBA will be an added advantageAt least 6- 10 years' experience in a similar role or similar business environmentProven track record on airing new business and entering into new business opportunitiesProven track record of effective negotiating skills i.e. contracts, service level agreements, labour negotiations etc.Understanding of the economics of business as well as the influence of global and local marketsExperience in supplier transformation through Group PoliciesExperience in managing large teams and business processesExtensive experience and proven track record in cost containment and process re-engineeringFunction successfully in a highly unionized environment Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of cost control principlesKnowledge of good financial management practicesKnowledge of basic accounting principlesShareholder value creationLegislation governing financial practices (PFMA, King III etc, Companies Act)Legislation affecting business practicesUnderstanding of the economics of the airline/general catering business and the influence of global and local markets and economies of the businessNegotiation skillsAnalytical skillsCommunication skillsChange ManagementResource utilisationInformation processingWriting high level reports for boards and shareholderProject Management skillsCommercial and financial acumen Attributes Strategic design Proactive collaboration at Executive and Board level, as well as other stakeholder engagements with businessProblem Solver  Additional Information Kindly take note:Full details and CV to be send to executiverecruitment@flysaa.com Policy We are committed to Employment Equity when recruiting internally and externally.
