About the role This is a full-time fixed term contract managerial role to manage the delivery of paralegal resource to our UK Practical Guidance team. ResponsibilitiesTo manage, train, develop and motivate a team of ParalegalsTo manage the smooth-running of our LexisAsk serviceTo manage the delivery of our current awareness service across Practical Guidance and Research To support the Practical Guidance teams with core content creation and maintenanceTo identify and deliver opportunities for improvement and operational excellenceShape and define individual and collective responsibilities within the team in line with department and personal objectivesEffectively monitor performance of the teamLexisAskManage a team carrying out legal research and drafting answers to LexisAsk questions. Help to respond to LexisAsk queries by:Conducting legal research and liaising with subject matter experts within the Practical Guidance practice area teams, andDrafting replies to queries from customers within a specified response timeContribute to a bank of 'Q&A' documents across our suite of Lexis+ content, adhering to the defined style guidelinesWork on initiatives and processes to help develop the smooth running of the LexisAsk service in order to increase efficiency in the delivery of 'live' LexisAsk answers and 'Q&A' contentManage a team delivering our current awareness service to our products Contribute to and ensure all news items are written to a high standard, edited and checked for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, clarity, flow, style and news value check and proof content before publication, address and resolve publishing issues and make recommendations for process improvements support the development and implementation of initiatives to grow and improve the current awareness offeringPractical Guidance contentManage a team supporting the Practical Guidance teams and contribute to content creation and maintenance (eg practice notes, precedents, timelines, trackers, checklists, flowcharts and Q&As) Work closely with the Practical Guidance teams and the Commissioning team to commission and draft practical guidance. This work will include:Reviewing new and existing content for quality and legal accuracyDrafting practical guidance contentCollaborating with external authors regarding externally-written contentAttending practice area team meetings to ensure priorities are understood and can be communicated to the paralegal teamEffectively triage and delegate content tasks from the Practical Guidance teams across the paralegal team ensuring tasks are dealt with effectively and efficientlyBest practice and continuous improvementContribute to and implement best practice and continuous improvement initiatives across the team and provide training/advice to other teams as requiredSupport the Head of the PSL Hub in identifying and delivering opportunities for process efficiencyThink independently and drive innovation in technical solutions within our product teams, to ensure that we are delivering guidance, current awareness and LexisAsk in the most efficient way possibleEncourage team members to take an active role in continuous improvement projects and efficiency initiativesRequirements: Demonstrate experience in using a data-driven approach to solve problems and deliver effective solutions Demonstrate experience in managing multiple stakeholders Have excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
