Senior Forging OperatorJob Summary:Overall responsibility for setting up, operating forging machines to taper, shape, or form metal in accordance with production, quality and achieve global objectives set up by Forging Team leader, FEC/SAT Operation Manager and Company.Responsibilities:• Performs tooling changes of forging presses.• Sets up and uses machine interfaces to operate a forging press,• Checks and maintains fluid levels of line equipment.• Operates and adjusts forge press according to guidelines and in a safe manner.• Reads job instructions to produce specified values including basic mathematical calculations.• Works in a two-to-three-person team to forge parts/casings• Contributes to deliver the planned production (discharge of required hours) and performs the jobs in accordance with the defined procedures and work instructions.• Notifies and reports to his line manager any safety and production concerns such as material shortages, press machine malfunction, quality issues to prevent impact on the operation.• Reads tooling and part drawings.• Inspects forged components and records results as per in process inspection WI.• Records process information and completion of the job in the shop traveler, production supported documents and data collection in ERP in order to maintain all required records as per FEC process requirements and defined WI's.• Performs daily Preventive Maintenance s (Level 1) and 5S of forging line equipment.• Ensures proper PPE's (Personnel Protective Equipment) are worn as per safety of work requirements.• Ensures all hazardous waste materials are properly segregated and disposed of correctly.• Performs other duties as assigned by the Forge team leader and SAT management.• Reads tooling and part blueprints.• Uses gauges to accurately measure and verify proper part dimensions.• Operate forging presses.• Maintaining a clean work environment.Qualifications:• Diploma or degree in production, manufacturing or equivalent.• Minimum of 7 years experience in forging processes in aerospace, defense industries or other industries for senior operator.Experience:• Relevant industrial exposures with hydraulic press with closed and open die forging process and hammer forging process with Steel, alloys, Aluminum materials.• Relevant knowledges with hot and cold forging methods/technics.• Awareness in material science as per material working temperature and conditions based on forging technics.• Relevant experience with heat technology used in the forging process (heat induction, furnace...).• Ability for reading detail part drawings and general understanding for GD&T• Knowledge related to jigs and fixtures design support.• Relevant knowledge in measuring characteristics and measuring equipment's for in process inspection.• Awareness of international standards in environment, health and safety.• Knowledge about solving problem, decision making, planning, leadership and analytical skills.• Customer focus and orientation skills.Desired Candidate ProfileEducation:Bachelor of Technology/EngineeringGender:nmNationality:Any Nationality
