Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Aerospace EngineeringDepartment of Aerospace, Physics and Space SciencesFlorida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, FL 32901The Department of Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences (APSS) at the Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Aerospace Engineering program with an expected start date of August 2024.Successful candidates must have a commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels, develop a nationally recognized externally funded research program, and contribute to the institution and profession through service. We seek candidates with research interest and expertise related to Digital Engineering of Aerospace Systems. Candidates should have a strong background in any area of aerospace engineering (aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, dynamics & control, or air/space vehicle design) and high potential to contribute to digital engineering (digital twin, digital thread, multidisciplinary design and analysis, digital manufacturing, AI/ML) research and education. A in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field is required for consideration.Information about the Department of Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences and the College of Engineering and Science can be found at . The department has 33 faculty members representing diverse fields, including aerospace engineering, physics, astrophysics, astronomy, astrobiology, and planetary sciences. The APSS department currently serves over 600 undergraduate and 120 graduate students, of which approximately 430 undergraduate and 80 graduate students are aerospace engineering majors, making the Aerospace Engineering program one of the largest on campus. We are at the heart of the vibrant aerospace community on the Space Coast and nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
