To assist on the delivery of Government Department's mandate and strategic priorities, our IT Data Delivery Product team is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Consultant who will be responsible for ensuring the security, compliance and data privacy of our Azure platform. This role involves developing and implementing robust security measures, providing expertise on Azure security features, and advising on implementation best practices to safeguard our organisation's data assets.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Location: Sydney

Security Clearance: Must be Australian Citizen and able to apply for Baseline Clearance

Supporting the Head of Technology of Data Delivery and the Manager, Data Delivery to implement a Data Governance Framework as well as the relevant security controls required to setting up Azure Power BI Service.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Define and implement Azure security configurations, standards, and procedures to mitigate risks and maintain data integrity in preparation for potential penetration testing assessment.Recommend industry best practices for Power BI and other Azure services.Knowledge of Azure pricing and ability to estimate potential usage.Assist in the implementation of automation and monitoring solutions in line with Government Department's security posture in order to ensure real-time detection and response to security events.Produce relevant documentation (ABAC, Build and Design).Knowledge sharing with the Government Department's IT who will be managing long-term support.DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES Proven experience in the configuration, installation, and administration of: Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches and routers, Load Balancers (F5), Firewall technologies and appliances (Fortinet).Proven expertise configuring and maintaining Cloud platforms networking infrastructure and the integration back to on-premises platforms.Proven experience deploying and managing network hardening concepts across a range of networking technologies both on premise and within the Azure cloud.Experience managing and configuring Windows Server, VMWareExperience and knowledge of working within the ACSC Essential 8/ISM and PSPFKey stakeholders across the Technology team, include the Deputy CIO, Head of Technology for Data Delivery, and Head of Central Services. Other key stakeholders across the organisation will include the Executive Director for Technology and Data, Chief Security Officer, Chief Data Officer and the Chief Risk Officer.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES Understanding industry security frameworks and standards such as NIST,ISO/IEC 27001, ISM, Essential Eight and their application in cloud security.Implementing security network configurations, firewalls, and network policies to protect assets and data in transit.Knowledge and configuration of on-premise data sources using gateways and VPN connections.Implementing role-based security (RBS) and row-level security (RLS) within PowerBI to control access to data and reports based on user roles.Integrating Power BI with Azure Active Directory for secure authentication and single sign-on (SSO) capabilities.Configuring and managing data encryption at rest and in transit to ensure data security in Azure.Utilising Audit Logs and Azure Monitor to capture and analyse securityrelated events.Demonstrated experience with Azure security design patterns and practices, know pitfalls and potential security problems with cloud deployments.Knowledge of data encryption techniques, access controls, and compliance standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify security risks, vulnerabilities, and recommend effective mitigation strategies (Using MS Sentinel or similar).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate complex security concepts.Proactive, demonstrating initiative and a can-do attitude.Positive mindset and an energetic approach to problem solving with a willingness to offer new ideas and a fresh perspective.Team player and will contribute by sharing information and collaborating on solutions.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.

Salary: AUD170,000 - AUD190,000 per annum

Salary: AUD150,000 - AUD165,000 per annum + base plus super & benefits
