Our client is looking for a Senior DBA on a rolling contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing solution designs, database builds, and providing operational support. Ideally, you'll bring a strong background in SQL Server databases, both on-premises and Azure Cloud, and a proven track record of driving value through automation, platform development, and migration. This role requires at least Baseline level security clearance.
What you'll do:
As a Senior DBA, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building optimally performing SQL Server databases on both on-premises and Azure Cloud platforms. Responsibilities will include;
* Design and build optimally performing SQL Server databases, both on-premises and Azure Cloud
* Identify technical and process resolutions from business stakeholders' requirements
* Develop automation or self-service tools for DevOps teams
* Evaluate alternative solutions, standards, and technology paths
* Build relationships with Product, Operations and Account Executives to identify customer needs
* Create solution designs for complex customer bids in the dedicated hosting product
* Support hosting pre-sales and sales teams in their customer RFP responses and product designs
* Optimize people, process and technology resources to deliver committed service parameters
* Lead the design and install of complex Cloud Services
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior DBA role will bring a wealth of experience in SQL Server Architecture, with proven abilities in design, build, and support of SQL Server Availability Group. In particular;
* Baseline (or higher) level security clearance (this is a mandatory requirement)
* Proven experience as a Senior DBA with demonstrable SQL Server Architecture knowledge
* Experience with SQL Server Availability Group including design, build, and support
* Experience with SQL Server database migrations including on-premises and to the public cloud
* Proficiency in T-SQL, Powershell scripting, general scripting proficiency
* Experience with SQL Server Performance Tuning
* Ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit a logical approach to problem resolution
* Well-developed analytical and diagnostic skills
* Proven ability to work as part of a team
