Our Role This is an exciting opportunity which can be located at our Attunga site office in New England NSW or Mole Creek site in Tasmania , for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. This position will support the assigned operational sites and connect with the Global Procurement Function by promoting and facilitating a collaborative and integrated approach to the delivery of an end-to-end supply, procurement and purchasing service, and provide partnering support to enable effective inventory management.

Key focus areas for the role include: Ongoing operation of appropriate purchasing and expediting systems, processes, and resources to support sustainment activities. Research goods quality, specifications, price, availability, delivery, freight, etc. Optimize vendor usage (price, quality, service audits and evaluations). Understanding of warehousing/Supply chain & Inventory control. Partner to s upport establishment of inventory, monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels. Identify discrepancies, conduct investigations and prepare reports. Coordinate with site team members to complete cyclical and/or ad-hoc inventory stocktaking processes. Manage and coordinate inventory processes, systems and reporting. Analyse the velocity of inventory to identify fast and slow moving stock, and make any recommendations. Ideally, the successful candidate will have: Successful years of experience in purchasing and inventory/warehouse related environment ERP or MRP Knowledge (JDE is an advantage). Strong attention to detail and high accuracy levels. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability to work independently as well as part of a small team. Excellent time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Detail and results oriented with the ability to ensure overall effectiveness.
