The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Studio Operations Lead to manage the operations of our creative studio in Sydney. 

This position is central to the successful day-to-day operation and governance of the studio, working in tandem with the Studio Commercial Lead to provide direct support to the Studio Directors in the execution of strategic objectives. In this role you will have broad and diverse areas of accountability. 

With both local studio and Executive support, you will oversee the coordination of studio operations and the annual people cycle, support people and resourcing activities, and lead the local support team to drive Studio performance.

You'll play an important part in defining and maintaining a positive and inclusive workplace culture and lead all things people and talent locally. 

About You

We are seeking candidates who are proactive, collaborative, and detail oriented. You'll be outcome focussed, positive, and committed to continuous improvement. 

You will have strong office management experience and the ability to lead and support teams with confidence, authenticity, and warmth. The position requires strong influencing skills, not only to shape outcomes internally but to ensure quality results are achieved for the practice, our clients, and collaborators. Ideally, you have some experience with projects and billings. 

Although prior practice or studio management experience in design or architecture will be highly regarded, we welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds within professional services organisations (e.g., engineering, construction, consultancy, or law). 

You will have a good graphical design eye and experience in using InDesign or similar layout software You will have strong numerical and communication skills and be proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience in using project billing systems will be highly desirable. An understanding or experience with quality management systems (ISO9001 compliant or similar) will be beneficial.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

A high level of business acumen including people, culture, financial and resourcing. 5+ years of experience managing medium- to large-size teams.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with people at all levels.Excellent written and numerical skills and high attention to detail.An understanding of the landscape or architecture industry, a passion for design, and genuine alignment with ASPECT's Purpose.Qualifications in project management, business, commerce (or similar) preferred.ASPECT Benefits
