The ones that stretch you outside of what is known, where your true genius is challenged and shines.  The Opportunity Based at our Southbank office, the System & Safety Assurance Manager is to lead and manage the System and safety assurance functions for the engineering team and multiple projects and is accountable to the National Engineering Manager for day-to-day operations.

Establish and monitor Rail system engineering life cycle and processes in accordance with client / project specifications and as guided by relevant statutory bodies.

Key responsibilities include · Provide leadership, direction, supervision and inspirational management to all team members (direct & indirect).

· Manage the selection and training of all team members, building a high skilled, performance focused, innovative, passionate team.

· Establish appropriate and effective KPI's for all direct team members that allow performance to be clearly measured.

· Manage individual project's system and safety engineering and assurance process and documentation meeting both agreed project and standards specification.

· Manage Requirements, verification, configuration, interface, validation & integration process, and associated documentations for the project.

· Manage project audit, system safety cases to support assigned projects achieve ISA endorsement at agreed ISO 15288 defined milestones.

· Develop and contribute to all relevant Management Plan and/or process guidelines (aligned with UGL and/or client Engineering Management System).

· Develop and establish the requirements verification and validation framework to support the system and safety assurance needs of a project.

· Ensure the projects business requirements and systems requirements specification are developed using a projects requirements traceability matrix.

Requirements to be successful. · 15+ years' experience in rail systems design and installation, testing and commissioning or equivalent.

· Experienced gained in the rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics, or any other safety critical environment.

· Experience in people management and coordinating a team of Engineers to deliver both minor and major rail system projects.
