ABOUT THE ROLE You will be accountable for provides teaching and learning expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them, the institutes that accept them for post-graduate study, and the communities they serve. Expertise in cognitive psychology and research methods is sought for this role. In particular, the educator will hold a Master of Professional Psychology, or a Master in Clinical Psychology, or be near completion of a PhD in Psychology or cognate discipline and will have taught in undergraduate degrees on topics relating to psychology and have experience in psychological research including relevant publications. This position focuses on excellence in academic teaching, application of industry experience, learner engagement and support, resource development and educational administration specific to psychology. The educator will work with the Course Coordinator to ensure accreditation of the degree programs from relevant external bodies. The incumbent is a key and active participant in Higher Education and works to promote educational excellence, business growth and student-centred services for the psychology team. Your key accountabilities will be to: Deliver lectures and tutorials in the Associate and Bachelor degrees of Psychology that effectively engage learnersDevelop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle, to engage learners and meet their needs and learning stylesLiaise with key stakeholders such as industry and other education providers to explore pathway options for learnersImprove the quality of teaching and learning through a student-based approach and adaptive curriculumMaintain professional development to ensure industry and educational currency and excellenceDevelop classes that use online resources to emulate experimental conditions and help students understand the requirements of psychology as a discipline. ABOUT YOU You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in: Master of Professional Psychology, orMaster of Clinical Psychology, orNear completion of a PhD in Psychology or a cognate discipline, orPhD in Psychology or cognate discipline. Crucial to your success will be your strong understanding of contemporary approaches to education, teaching and learning and your proven track record in the design and delivery of up-to-date and engaging programs in conjunction with the ability to motivate and guide students to optimise their learning outcomes. You will have the ability to quickly develop rapport with students and colleagues from a diverse background in a collaborative and innovative environment, as well as having a firm understanding of educational administration tools and practices.
