We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator with extensive experience in Canvas to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, support, and integration of our Canvas LMS platform and connected systems. They will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of online courses, training materials, and educational resources. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for enhancing the learning experience through innovative technology solutions.Responsibilities:Administer and configure the Canvas LMS platform and connected systems to meet the needs of faculty, students, and administrators under the direction of IT leadershipField incident escalations, troubleshoot user issues with LMS systems, and resolve system-related problems in a timely mannerLeverage the knowledgebase and provide knowledge to support teamsManage user accounts, enrollments, course creations, organizations, and permissions in LMS systemsCollaborate with instructional designers and academic units to develop and implement best practices for online course design and deliveryWork with instructional team to conduct training sessions and workshops to educate faculty and staff on the use of Canvas features and functionalitiesStay informed about updates, new services, and emerging trends in educational technology and online learningMonitor system performance, analyze data, and generate reports to assess the effectiveness of the LMSAudit student activities, access logs,. and configurations to support academic integrityImplement security measures and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.Participate in the evaluation, selection, and integration of third-party tools and plugins to enhance the functionality of the LMSRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or related fieldProven experience as an LMS Administrator with a focus on Canvas, including configuration, administration, and supportExcellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detailEffective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentExperience in delivering training and support to end-usersFamiliarity with instructional design principles and online pedagogyAbility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyKnowledge of data privacy regulations, such as FERPA and GDPR, is preferredCanvas Admin certification or relevant training is a plusEqual OpportunityFlorida Tech does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, age, pregnancy, parenting status, veteran status or retirement status in its activities and programs.
