The team have the monumental task of ensuring that 40% of the Australian economy are able to transact over $90 billion a day using the Bank's services in a reliable manner. With the payments technology systems being at the heart of the Bank, almost every customer-facing channel relies on payments services in one way or another. The Data Services Crew within the Payments Domain are responsible for leading and building the world-class data delivery capability across critical payments data platforms and highly visible change initiatives.Your impact and contributionAs a Product Owner within the Payments Data Services Crew, you will work closely with the business to deliver exceptional outcomes for our business stakeholders and customers. You will be responsible for developing and delivering the data delivery for the Payments Domain. This will incorporate the delivery of new data, modernisation of existing data capabilities and development of the strategic roadmap for future state data delivery. You will be leading a team of data delivery experts to achieve this, while creating a psychologically safe, inclusive, accountable and high performance culture, and working collaboratively within and across Crews. Do work that mattersYou will report to the Crew Lead, Payments Data Services. As a Product Owner for the Payments Data Services squad, you will come with proven expertise in data engineering, architecture and design, as well as team leadership skills, working within largely complex product teams. You will hold a passion for providing data engineering solutions, contributing to a major set of technical decisions and build, while constantly defining the technical roadmaps in line with business's strategic goals.Key Responsibilities Define the squad product vision, goals and roadmap aligned with the Payments Data Services Crew objectives and purpose.Develop and design data engineering solutions for products and platforms to address identified needs or opportunities and build and prioritise the Squad backlog in collaboration with key stakeholders.Lead and develop a squad of team members including data engineers, quality engineers and BAs, creating a psychologically safe, inclusive, accountable and high-performance culture.Identify risk, dependencies and issues for the squad in line with excellent management of operational risk and compliance outcomes.Stay abreast of external market trends - regulatory, economics and innovation.Build and foster strong relationships across the product value chain, including Chief Data Office, Retail Technology, Compliance, and Finance, leading virtual teams to ensure efficient delivery of strategic initiatives and resolution of issues.We're interested in hearing from people who:Are passionate about building industry leading group data products from scratch using sophisticated data platforms and technical products.Are ready to execute state-of-the-art coding practices, driving high quality outcomes to solve core business and delivery objectives and minimise risks.Are capable of creating both technology blueprints and engineering roadmaps, for a multi- year data transformational journey, with a proven track record of delivering at pace with high quality.Are constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex data problems with an Agility focused mindset.Technical and Functional skills:We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with a data engineering background.Experience with the following will help you succeed in the role:Adept at defining and driving technology roadmaps and execute relevant strategies within the domain or reference architecture and help foster an excellent engineering culture that is open, safe, productive and fun for everyone!Advanced commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.Advanced communication and Influencing skills.Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability with advanced delivery skills.Exposure to Ab Initio, Alation, Omnia and TeradataApply today!We operate in a hybrid working environment, meaning a blend between being in the office and working remotely.
