In the role of Engineer (Civil) With supervision and guidance from senior engineering staff, you will project manage the delivery of road infrastructure projects through the administration of contracts and provision of technical expertise and support to the design, construction, and maintenance processes. In doing this you will ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management and process development.
Accountabilities: Assist in the selection of the most suitable contract process for project delivery, then administer the contract to ensure compliance and successful delivery; Identify possible problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to the design briefs where necessary to achieve acceptance; Determine appropriate bridge and road maintenance procedures, work instructions, and manage road and bridge maintenance tasks; Calculate quantities of component materials, analyze test results for materials, identify non-conformances, determine the controls needed during construction, and conduct and manage risk assessment; Manage under supervision, projects or elements of projects and: Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money, and best practice are achieved; Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to, and where required, undertake inspection of works and release hold points during construction and maintenance activities; and Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
