Senior Policy and Project Officer, Exams Centre Job no: 497966 Work type: Fixed Term Full Time Location: Adelaide, Melbourne Categories: Regulatory Operations The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered. The Senior Policy and Project Officer, Exams Centre will work as part of a team, to manage the coordination of simulation centres to deliver the Internationally Qualified Nurse and Midwife (IQNM) Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCE). Ensuring project deliverables are completed on time and within budget, the successful candidate will have a strong focus on maintaining sustainable pathways for collaboration between external providers and the relevant Ahpra operational and policy teams. This is a full time, fixed term contract for approximately 12 months.Our simulation centres are located in Adelaide and Melbourne, with applications open for this role in either location. However, for the right candidate, we are open to considering any Ahpra office location. In this role you will: Work collaboratively with all members of the nursing and midwifery exams team to establish a simulation centre for the IQNM OSCE. Lead the project and policy development, including through the preparation and provision of regular reports on project/policy activities, milestones, and progress to Ahpra and the NMBA. Develop and manage project/policy budgets, risk management, stakeholder engagement, communications, project performance against critical success factors, and project closure. Proactively consult with relevant internal and external stakeholders to obtain relevant contemporary information to inform policy and project development and/or to gain an indication of the likely impact of proposed policies, standards, or guidelines Provide timely and accurate advice including through formal correspondence to internal and external stakeholders regarding projects, new or revised policies, standards, or guidelines. As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following: Relevant degree level tertiary qualification, or Graduate Diploma, or relevant experience Demonstrated project management experience Experience in development of policy advice, ideally relating to health practitioner regulation. Strong relationship building capabilities and influencing skills Demonstrated ability to develop sustainable governance and procedural frameworks.
