About the role

Reporting to the Head of Operations this position you will be responsible for managing a team that are accountable for safe, efficient and cost-effective deployment of the ground operations assets to best meet the business needs. This is a full time position Monday to Friday, based at Perth Domestic Airport.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and an incident / injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position. In concert with the National Jet Express Safety Department, investigate any safety-related or dangerous goods issues and implement, or where appropriate recommend the implementation, of any corrective action or procedures. Act as the principal ground operations advisor to the NJE Head of Airport Operations. Ensure compliance under the relevant state and federal law of all ground operations activities conducted by the Company, its contractors or its agents in support of Company flying operations, or as contractors to other operators. Negotiate and maintain the Service Level Agreements between National Jet Express and the authorised/approved service provider/s for the provision of the contracted levels of operational co-ordination, ground operations training, security, cargo, catering and aircraft ground handling support. Manage and maintain the department organisation and establishment plan to ensure that the department employs and trains sufficient personnel to achieve the departmental and corporate business objectives, including appropriate succession and contingency planning. Induct new aerodromes and operations into the NJE network and Safety Management System, ensure operations and training meet a high standard Ensure that all departmental activities are conducted such as to assist the Company to develop and maintain excellent customer/client relationships with clients and service providers. Ensure accurate and timely compliance by ground handling staff with all operational data recording and risk management procedures. Represents the NJE Ground Operations department and, when appropriate, the Flight Operations Department and/or Company, with the regulatory authorities, Government agencies, clients and service providers. Oversee NJE Ground Operations training requirements, deploying the Ground operations officers to complete training where required.

  PERSON SPECIFICATION To be considered for this position with Cobham, we require the below:

Current IATA Dangerous Goods Acceptance Certification (Essential ) Airport Reporting Officer Qualifications (Essential ) Demonstrated experience in the management of airport operations, Load Control, Dangerous Goods and training for high capacity RPT passenger jet operations. Demonstrated knowledge of all of the essential operational and infrastructure requirements to conduct the Company's Ground Operations Reasonable experience in airport management / aerodrome reporting Experience in aircraft load control. Understanding of contracts and financial documentation Experience in managing relationships with clients, preferably with mining and/or resource industry clients. Ability to work under pressure and excellent interpersonal skills.
