Job Description Req#: 671158 We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change? The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes: • 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden • 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry • 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa • up to six new substation sites. This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer with significant stringing experience to join the team. The role will be based in Brisbane and transition to site on a 10/4 roster. Working with guidance from the Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the production of design deliverables through the lifecycle of the project. What will a day in this role look like: • Design, integration & coordination, installation & commissioning of electrical systems and services required for the project • Coordination & integration of the design with other engineering design disciplines & services • Development / production of inspection & test and operating & maintenance manual documentation. • Directing drafting personnel for the production of design & installation drawings • Development / production of inspection & test and operating & maintenance manual documentation. • Provides written reports on engineering activities as required by the Project Manager The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. What are we looking for you to bring to the team: • Electrical Engineering Qualification • Significant stringing experience throughout, design, and construction on Brownfields and Greenfields major transmission projects. • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally. • Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook As part of the recruitment process, there are a number of checks which may be conducted to demonstrate an applicant's suitability for a role including police / criminal background checks, medical, drug and alcohol testing, due diligence checks, right to work checks, and/or reference checks.
