About the roleLaing O'Rourke has recently been appointed as Managing Contractor for the Initial Works and Early Works package of Suburban Rail Loop; the huge package of works includes preparing sites for the launch of tunnel boring machines, moving and protecting underground services, ground improvement, geotechnical investigations and roads modifications for this city-shaping project.We are currently seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team on the Suburban Rail Loop Early and Initial Works Project. This is your opportunity to join a privately-owned Tier 1 constructor and International Engineering Enterprise. Key responsibilities Assist the Traffic Management Lead in the execution of their dutiesProvide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure the planning, implementation and maintenance of traffic management is carried out accordingly within specified guidelines.Exercise professional judgement and negotiation in resolving traffic management issues, i.e. local council, local residents, road users, etc.Financial management skills including identification of cost efficiencies and managing budgetsReporting on traffic engineering performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformanceUndertake risk assessments for developing Traffic Management PlansEnsure the safety of the engineers, workforce and general public with the use of appropriate and compliant Traffic management plans and control devices during construction activitiesPossess a high level of personal organisation and accountabilityOperate productively within a team environmentPrimarily attend work during working hours on business days, and occasionally out of hours as required for major events at the discretion of the Traffic Manager You will have Bachelor of EngineeringExperience in Major Project constructionAbility to organise and prioritise multiple tasks to meet deadlinesWorking knowledge of worksite traffic management Acts, Standards, Codes and RegulationsStakeholder management / interpersonal skillsConflict management and negotiation skills BenefitsWe work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
