An opportunity exists for an Assistant Finance Officer to join our Finance team on an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. Who we are looking for: As an Assistant Finance Officer (Level 3), you will have qualifications relevant to or prior experience in the finance sector, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team. You will work on a full-time basis to process accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll for 200+ staff.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

Well-developed communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain professional reciprocal relationships with suppliers and debtors Ability to manage workload to ensure you meet deadlines and utilise time efficiently to respond to conflicting priorities Attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely data entry into finance software systems Capacity to apply analytical and critical thinking skills across a range of finance related work activities Experience interpreting and applying industrial award instruments to ensure all payroll practices meet business and legislative requirements Ability to liaise with staff across the organisation with relation to payroll enquiries, and advice and assistance of financial legislation, policies and standards What you need: Relevant qualifications or experience in a similar role Financial and administrative experience requiring high level of accountability to financial and legal standards High level computer skills including proficiency with all aspects of MS Office Suite and corporate software systems Experience with accounting and payroll software - KeyPay and Sage preferred Knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to the not-for-profit/disability sector Current 'C' class driver's licence Ability to acquire a Working with Children check (blue card) and NDIS Worker Screening check (yellow card) prior to commencing What we offer: Working for an established, local not for profit organisation celebrating over 30 years of service to the community Access to learning and development with optional career progression and pathway planning Award wages, including applicable allowances and not for profit salary packaging options Employee Assistance Program and employee benefits A welcoming and friendly team environment What our team says about us: Quarterly Employee Happiness Surveys tell us that our staff report 8.2/10 overall happiness at work.
