This Senior Audit Officer role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the integrity of government procurement processes, ensuring ethical practices in the supply chain. Unique opportunity to ensure the integrity of government procurement processes Dynamic and supportive work environment that nurtures critical thinking Role with significant impact on ethical supplier practices Initial contract until June 30th with possible extension What you'll do: Participate in state-wide compliance activities including conducting investigations and referring non-compliance allegations to regulators Perform complex methodical investigations, assessments, referrals, and detailed analysis of supplier compliance Produce high-quality investigation reports, evidential briefs, and recommendations Conduct reviews of technical information arising out of serious supplier breaches Provide support and advice on compliance matters to less experienced staff in a team environment Identify actual or perceived risk of non-compliance and recommend penalties and sanctions for substantiated non-compliance under the Ethical Supplier framework Determine the appropriate management of complaints being the requirement for an investigation by PIU or a referral to a procuring agency and/or regulator for an investigation Identify and communicate opportunities to improve procurement compliance practices for buyers and suppliers by analysing outcomes for potential contentious issues and risk factors What you bring: Proven experience in leading compliance activities, evidence-based investigations pursuant to policy, contractual commitments, legislation and regulation Demonstrated knowledge of interpreting and applying complex policy and legislation such as the Queensland Procurement Policy, Ethical Supplier Mandate, Ethical Supplier Threshold and the Industrial Relations Act 2016 Strong verbal and written communication skills resulting in clear, concise and accurate investigation reports and advice targeted to internal and external stakeholders Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships, support the team, use initiative and resolve problems Demonstrated experience in managing potentially competing tasks, tight timeframes and activities of high complexity and priority in a fast-paced environment Degree or qualification in Industrial Relations, Workplace Health and Safety, investigations or auditing is highly desirable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
