We are seeking an innovative Lecturer (internally known as a Learning Facilitator) to focus on high quality teaching, scholarship and research in Games and Software Development. The role is primarily responsible for preparing, delivering, facilitating, and assessing subjects and to ensure students are provided with the best opportunity to attain learning outcomes and satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks. The incumbent is also expected to actively participate and contribute to curriculum reviews and continuous improvement, including validation and moderation activities. In this role, industry experience working in games and software development, and experience of curriculum design in higher education with demonstrated high-quality outcomes are both essential. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Ultimo campus (Sydney). Since courses will be delivered both online and face-to-face, the role will offer flexible working arrangement. This lecturer will deliver and/or coordinate subjects in technology suite of the courses (refer to https://www.torrens.edu.au/courses/technology for more information). Who you are: To be successful in the Learning Facilitator - Games and Software Development position you will love engaging with students and working in a team. In addition, you will have: Demonstrated experience in higher education in the field of Games and Software Development Expertise may include game and software coding, understanding of Python Libraries, OpenCV, Unity and/or Unreal engines, and/or virtual production techniques. Previous experience teaching Good industry connections and a demonstration of integrating industry practice into a learning environment. Preferably a PhD (or near completion) related to Games or Software Development. Preferably a demonstrated track record of high-quality research outcomes through traditional publications, conferences and non-traditional research outcomes. Preferably evidence of research that is applicable to industry or in collaboration with industry partners. Preferably a Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. All applicants require current and valid working rights for Australia.
