More time off for the things that matter - Up to 6 weeks' leaveWork where we work best - Hybrid office/work-from-home environmentMore time off for the things that matter - Up to 6 weeks' leaveWork where we work best - Hybrid office/work-from-home environmentThe Senior Manager, Platform Engineering is responsible for the management of technology and services platform roadmaps, team structures and ongoing training of employees to ensure high quality and timely delivery of business appropriate solutions.This role is accountable for all platform management, including services functions, and will drive product management practices, ensuring the platform engineering teams drive ongoing enablement and business value-centric mindset.In addition, the role will have responsibility for leading the organisation-wide reinvention of a platforms roadmap that empowers and engages employees to adopt (or exploit) new technology and increase dexterity. This includes supporting any changes through effective communication and coordination at all levels of the organisation.Where appropriate, the Senior Manager, Platform Engineering may act as 2IC for the Head of Cloud Computing & Technology OperationsAbout the rolePeople Management:Develop a talent strategy with flexibility to accommodate future changes and needsProvide ongoing coaching and promote development of direct reportsEngage in recruitment processes as appropriate from time to timeEnsure compliance with appropriate governance and coordination activities (i.e. technology governance, release coordination, end-user communications, reporting, optimising licensing, and entitlements)Operations:Establish the product roadmap (domain vision, mission, and strategic direction) of responsible teamsDrive customer and employee experience improvements in consultation with the Head of Cloud Computing & Technology Operations, People and Culture team, Facilities and other IT and business leadersDrive establishment and maintenance of metrics of value for services across Platforms Engineering teams, in consultation with Service Management teamLead the development, publication, and maintenance of the platform product portfolios, as well as the roadmap for its future development aligned to business requirementsManage and develop productive relationships with strategic technology and services vendors (in collaboration with Technology, Sourcing, Procurement domain and vendor management colleagues)Establish disaster recovery and business continuity plans for responsible technologiesOversee relevant technology projects, champion change within the business user communityEnsure the ongoing security operational hygiene of solutions are maintained, particularly in the areas of patching and vulnerabilities managementSupport the Service Desk, Desktop Support, and other concierge teams through escalation responsiveness, from time to timeEnsure appropriate risks and issues (including near misses) are efficiently escalated to the Head of Cloud Computing & Technology Operations, or as outlined in Perpetual's Risk Management Policy and proceduresStrategy:Lead the development and management of relevant domain product management services strategy and lifecycle in line with the Perpetual enterprise architecture frameworkServes on IT planning and policymaking committeesDrives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metricsDevelop and be accountable for relevant technology standards, usage, and licensing to optimise costs and data policiesDefine and execute standardised IT support improvement strategies, leveraging cross-functional resourcesActively seek to identify and understand how new and emerging technologies and platforms may be assessed, integrated, and introduced to ensure IT capabilities remain responsive to business demandsFinancial:Review all proposed relevant operating and capital expenditure to ensure alignment with overall IT and company objectivesManage platform engineering technology budget allocation and growth projections, supporting broader portfolio deliveryDrive relevant project forecasting and transition to BAU projections for relevant technology componentsManage team resourcing in line with IT and company objectives, maintaining supply and demand projections and project recovery targetsAbout youBachelor's degree in IT, Business (or other relevant field) and/or relevant experienceFramework certifications -
