About the Role Senior Clinical Psychologist is responsible for managing the operations and quality of the supervision and training of clinical psychology and other trainees, clinical supervision of several counsellors, and day to day clinical risk management consultation to all counsellors.The incumbent provides a professional counselling service to students, prospective students and staff across the university, and training and supervision to interns The incumbent is also responsible for provision of a professional counselling service to the UTS community regarding a broad range of personal, academic, and psycho-social issues, and clinical supervision of and impromptu clinical case consultation to some counselling staff on a regular basis If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: · Assessment and diagnosis of psychosocial, academically related, and mental health problems of presenting clients, including crisis management and critical incident responses · Providing individual, couple and group counselling using a range of psychotherapeutic skills and interventions consistent with currently accepted best practice. · Curriculum development, clinical supervision and training for staff and clinical psychology students and other trainees. · Assists the Head of Counselling in management functions within the Service, including acting as Head of Counselling as needed. · Maintain confidential notes and data entry for clients as well as supervision documentation · Attend clinical supervision and weekly meetings at Counselling. · Provide consultation with Faculties and other University stakeholders. With examples, please outline in a separate document how you meet the following 6 key selection criteria points below: 1. Excellent communication skills and an ability to deal with universities which place clinical interns, as well as various University stakeholders (e.g., Faculties) a range of UTS staff and students. 2. Excellent skills in developing therapeutic relationships, assessing presenting problems and designing and implementing appropriate interventions for individual students, including crisis management 3. Demonstrate experience in running group and workshop 4. Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision of counsellors/psychologists/social workers, as well as experience in leading a team 5. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and supervision of clinical psychology interns with a knowledge of supervision models 6. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability and displays high level self-reflection skills, as well as balance, thoughtfulness, and strength in difficult situations. Base Salary Range: $132,164 to $138,457 pa (HEW 9) This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.
