We are actively sourcing an experienced or able to take on new challenges Manager, Health Information Services (HIS) to join our Health Information Services Team across St Vincent's Private Hospitals in Brisbane and Northside. Reporting directly to the National Manager HIS, your role will be to lead the Department with an emphasis on developing systems, staff and services that are innovative, resource efficient and meet the changing needs of the hospital. You will be part of a dynamic leadership team that actively drives efficiency reviews and develops programs to support the organisation's strategic intent and operational performance. This position provides excellent scope for personal and professional development with exposure to projects, facilities and divisions across SVHA. This position is available now, and can be offered as Permanent Full Time or potentially Part Time if suitable, determined on a case-by-case basis. Key responsibilities of the role: Ensure HIS accomplishes agreed Key Performance Indicators including staff and Department based Achieve working hours per bed day requirements and service provision levels within budget Manage processes, mandatory reporting and ensure coding and data accuracy is maintained Oversee the scanning of medical record processes and associated clerical tasks in conjunction with the Clerical Team Leader Lead and mentor all Department staff, establishing strong working relationships and a positive culture Collaborate with other HIS Department Heads to facilitate the continuation of Coder Education and Training Lead by example and partner with the Patient Accounts team to ensure efficiency in workflow for invoice related coding and documentation reviews and ensure the management of the Medical Record Forms process Be the front-facing representative of the Hospital as Privacy Officer, work collaboratively with cross-functional staff to ensure all medico-legal requirements are achieved Collaborate with the Quality and Risk Department to ensure requirements are achieved - in particular Hospital Acquired Complication reviews Coach and educate clinical staff regarding documentation requirements and provide material to support the improvement of clinical documentation Things that work for us: Bachelor of Health Information Manager or equivalent and preferably post graduate qualifications Proven experience in a Senior Management or Leadership role - ideally within the Private Health sector Truly creative leader with the ability to drive a positive work culture and understand the needs and impact of the role, their team and the wider organisation Demonstrated proficiency in clinical coding, the ability to oversee the coding process and staff and contribute significantly to the strategic aim of "Right First Time" and a skilled and educated workforce Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office and detailed understanding of common industry software and a keen aptitude to learn Pro-active analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as outstanding oral and written communication skills Proven experience contributing to processes to improve revenue cycles in the Private Health Information Services arena Ability to collaborate, guide and support on multiple priorities simultaneously and seamlessly while maintaining attention to detail in a high pressure environment Current 2024 Flu Vaccine (or willingness to receive) and a minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations - mandatory Things that work for you: Ability to visibly see your impact on the business and its service Opportunity to be part of a dynamic leadership team Competitive salary packaging options Discounted private health insurance Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families Access to the Fitness Passport (FP) Why become part of St Vincent's Health Australia?
