To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years. Embark on an Historical Journey: Become a Lecturer in History at La Trobe University La Trobe University's Department of Archaeology and History is on the lookout for a Lecturer in History to join our esteemed School of Humanities & Social Sciences. This part-time (0.5 FTE) continuing role, based at our vibrant Melbourne (Bundoora) campus, offers the unique opportunity to engage with and inspire students studying our world, and its many pasts. About the position:  As a Lecturer in History, you will: Shape the minds of students through engaging and thought-provoking lectures, tutorials, and workshops, in both online and face-to-face formats. Coordinate and teach key subjects within the History major, including foundational courses like HIT1HIT (Disruption: History of Innovation and Technology) and HIS1MLH (Myth, Legend, and History). Lead in curriculum design and development, employing innovative strategies to enhance the student learning experience. Engage in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, contributing to the broader academic community through research, publications, and conferences. The candidate: A PhD in History or a closely related field, with a demonstrated track record of teaching excellence and curriculum development. A dynamic educator who can inspire students across a range of historical subjects, with a particular ability to engage first-year cohorts. An academic with a scholarly approach to teaching, who is comfortable using modern learning technologies and methodologies. A committed team player, capable of collaborating effectively within a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
