Senior IT Finance Optimisation & Recovery Officer Other (Information & Communication Technology)Senior IT Finance Optimisation & Recovery Officer, Ongoing position available, Sydney CBD location plus flexible working optionsSenior IT Finance and Recovery Optimisation Officer position available within the Chief Information Office, at the Department of Customer Service.Grade 9/10, salary range: $120,859 - $133,183 + 11% superBased in Sydney CBD (McKell) with flexible working options.Primary Purpose of the Role:The Senior IT Finance and Recovery Optimisation Officer will be responsible for managing IT finance and recovery optimization initiatives, ensuring the realisation of strategic benefits and the delivery of efficient IT financial management. The role aims to support ongoing and sustainable service optimisation while enhancing customer value.Key Accountabilities:Develop financial planning processes and standards to support the execution of business strategy, ensuring quality improvement, operational risk reduction, and compliance with standards and guidelines.Influence strategy and develop plans, policies, and processes for accounting, budgeting, and IT resource charging, including the definition of cost and charging models aligning with organisational priorities.Set, negotiate, agree upon, and manage all financial budgets and targets, ensuring adequate funding for IT targets and plans, especially to meet development and capacity needs.Analyse actual expenditure, explain variances, and determine options to meet real needs while ensuring organizational consistency.Assess financial performance and instigate improvements to enhance business operations.Identify measures and mechanisms to measure benefits, informing decision-making and supporting optimal service delivery.Analyse and monitor benefits against predictions in business cases, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and involved throughout change programs.Support operational managers in aligning plans, work packages, and deliverables with expected benefits and lead activities required in benefit realisation.Delivering multiple support activities and services within tight timeframes while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Delivering outcomes in an environment heavily reliant on input and approval from multiple stakeholders.Delivering quality services and negotiating workable timeframes amidst competing demands, priorities, unforeseen issues, and a high volume of work, requiring independent work.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the IT sector.Strong understanding of financial planning processes, budgeting, and cost management.Experience in developing and implementing financial strategies and policies.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and negotiation abilities.Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Advanced level MS Excel and Power BI skillsHow to applyTo start your journey towards joining our team, please click on the link below and attach your resume (max 5 pages) and cover letter (max 2 pages)Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $120,859 base plus superannuationClick Here to access the Role Description.
