A market leading industrial head contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Design Manager or Senior Design Manager to join their growing business.



Projects will of an Industrial nature and jobs from $10m up to about $100m+, experience with similar projects in these sectors is a must, ideally 5yrs experience in industrial projects. Projects include logistics, warehousing, food and beverage manufacturing, cold storage, distribution centres etc.



You will be providing support across multiple projects progressing and managing design through the full project life cycle. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Coordinating and managing all aspects of the design process from preconstruction to delivery Assist with all design and construction coordination issues for documentation reviews and RFI's Assist with design, site and coordination meetings Assist with the control and management of the design consultants Controlling and organising all design and documentation budgets Managing the planning and approvals process Value engineering Proposal development Risk management and mitigation in tender and construction phases Client and stakeholder management Draft construction methodologies that communicate and coordinate the project team to value engineer on-time and quality construction outcomes that deliver better outcomes for all parties Work with site team to ensure construction programmes are followed and regularly updated Assist and coordinate construction and design advice to aid in the development of accurate scope of works and successful negotiation with subcontractors for tendering and letting of subcontracts and the assessment of variation claims Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards and business systems Qualifications and Requirements: Tertiary Qualification in Construction, Architecture, Engineering or similar Minimum 5 years' experience within the construction industry - a tier 1, 2 or 3 background would be ideal, can be from architecture, head contracting or client side Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong client and subcontractor focus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to work within a team as well as autonomously Excellent organisation and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Construction Safety Induction (White) card This is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with a successful and growing organisation who offer challenging work and the potential for career progression.
