Project Development Lead

Power Generation & Distribution (Mining, Resources & Energy) As the Project Development Lead you will Lead the development of projects within our clients prescribed, Customer, or Significant Project (projects complex in nature and/or of network significance) programs including state-significant infrastructure projects, asset replacement programs, substation augmentations, generator connections/modifications, contestable asset development, telecommunication system upgrades, transmission line modifications, and other 3rd party driven network modifications. You must be able to influence, negotiate, and drive positive outcomes during the development phase of projects to ensure projects are established that can be delivered to functional requirements safely, timely, on budget, and to the required quality standard. Some Key Accountabilities below: • Lead, develop, manage, and coordinate the portfolio of BAU, Lumea and Significant projects by undertaking sound project planning and management, including budget management and control • Develop projects to provide well-defined project parameters, including: - Option Feasibility Studies (OFS) / Order of magnitude - Detailed Scoping Reports - Cost estimates including detailed risk assessments - Detailed Design coordination • Manage risk, quality, resources, communications, procurement, cost control, and schedule control associated with the program of works. • Influence and lead project activities during the development phase to ensure all capital projects in the program progress on schedule, within budgets, and to desired quality. • Establish project budgets, forecasts, and schedules for all projects in the program. • Optimise the program of work to facilitate efficient delivery packages of work. • Identify risk implications, create controls to counter identified risks, and manage with affected stakeholders to mitigate the risk. • Coordinate the investigation and preparation of scope development including: - Control costs for delivering outputs. - Preparation of scoping studies that assess all stakeholder requirements. - Thorough briefings on project options and issues, with solutions identified. - Effective assessment of project feasibility. • Report on the performance of the works - Assess the effectiveness of feasibility reports and estimates with internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of required outcomes. You will Lead the project development with clear objectives and defined strategies whilst mentoring, coaching, and supporting the career development of team members. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical leadership with capability to assess and balance safety, quality, financial and time constraints.
