We are currently seeking an Applications Engineer to join our team located in our Bayswater Head Office. Reporting to the Applications Engineering Team Leader, you will be responsible for the design and development of the grinding applications process.

You will play a pivotal role in creating cutting-edge products and services that wow our customers, all whilst ensuring high quality solutions are provided through testing and validation. 

This role will see you contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment and work closely with Design and Manufacturing engineers. You will be the voice of our customer in product design and communicate this to stakeholders across the business. 

Key Responsibilities: Consult branches, customers, and operations during the preliminary design stage to accurately determine the customer requirements from a technical perspective. Consult with design engineers to ensure design concepts support best practice process design (grinding). Prepare and execute Test Plans (CVP&R and DVP&R), documenting results and feeding this back into the development process. Test software rigorously to ensure product quality and usability. Be accountable for technical accuracy of calculations and execution of grinding simulations and programs. Contribute towards building Applications knowledge through use of our applications knowledge base. Prepare necessary support documentation for project, including preparing and distributing customer grinding performance reports. Provide technical support for Sales staff, Design Engineers, Marketing, Operations and Service Engineers and customers. Methodically analyse, evaluate, and recommend options to improve the efficiency of existing equipment and processes.

Comprehension of grinding principles and their application to machine tool design. Ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate critical thinking skills for root cause analysis and problem solving. Demonstrate a practical application of data collection and analysis for scientific decision making. Effective time management skills and ability to work to deadlines. Adaptable and flexible attitude. Options for flexible work arrangements. Opportunity to work across many varied projects.
