Job Purpose

To teach Computer Applications and Technology (CAT) to SP FET students

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: LECTURER  A relevant Master's degree in Computer Application Technology or Information and Communication TechnologyComputer Application Technology as a major subject at the undergraduate levelA relevant teaching qualification (Preferably at secondary school level)At least two (2) years of relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years relevant experience in SP and FET phase at school level.Specialized knowledge of methodologies of teaching Computer Applications Technology (CAT) PLEASE NOTE: PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WHO MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AT LECTURER LEVEL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: JUNIOR LECTURER  Computer Application Technology as a major subject at the undergraduate levelA relevant teaching qualification (Preferably at secondary school level)At least two (2) years of relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or FIVE (5) years relevant experience in SP and FET phase at school level.Specialized knowledge of methodologies of teaching Computer Applications Technology (CAT) RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LECTURER Relevant research output Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Teaching of CAT in the SP and FET departmentCurriculum development and other learning materialsSupervising students on teaching practiceResearch and involvement in research activities (publications and supervision)Academic administration, development, and administrationAssessment and quality assurance Networking with schools and other networks Coaching and mentoring of students and staffMeticulous planning and organizing skillsPerform other functions as may be assigned by the head of departmentGood administrative and organizational skillsAbility to work in a teamAdequate knowledge of South African CAPS document related to CATExpert knowledge in CAT Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent teaching skillsComputer Applications Technology (CAT) and Information and Communication TechnololgyGood administrative and organizational skillsAbility to work in a teamAdequate knowledge of South African CAPS document related to CAT  General Information Closing Date: 21 April 2024
