The Role & The Team As an Engineering Specialist (Communication and Navigation) you will support the Operation and Maintenance of assets that are critical to the delivery of Air Navigation services and Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) to industry. This includes contributing to the definition, measurement and continual improvement of system maintenance (in conjunction with suppliers), including configuration management. The role may also require you to support the installation, integration, test and deployment of system changes (including project-initiated changes) and updates ensuring, they are fit for purpose. Airservices projects currently in work or under consideration include: Working on the implementation of new and innovative technology at Western Sydney Airports Melbourne Airports third runway and Perth Airports New Parallel Runway Upgrading the Airservices Australia fleet of navigation aids located all across Australia Implementing new types of communications systems Please see the link below to view the full Position Description: Completed a tertiary qualification in Engineering and be eligible to hold Registration as a Professional Engineer in relevant area of engineering in accordance with relevant legislation e.g. Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) Experience in managing regulated Communication and/or Navigation systems such as VHF, HF, ILS, and NDB Demonstrated values-based behaviours, and ability to support organisational capability and culture Excellent oral and communications skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment Additional supporting skills and competencies that are highly desirable include: Demonstrated experience in supporting Engineering process improvement Demonstrated understanding of Systems Engineering processes Airservices Australia is a diverse and inclusive employer that recognises the benefits of having a workforce that reflects the communities in which we work.
