The Opportunity

This is a lucrative opportunity for a proven finance executive to lead the Finance and IT function of a Melbourne headquartered consultancy undertaking fast-paced growth both domestically and abroad.

The business provides specialised consultancy to a wide range of clients from large ASX listed household names to high-growth SMEs looking to establish themselves in the local market. Partner with a collaborative and forward minded senior leadership team including a progressive private equity owner and its commercially-minded, outcome driven founders. 

The Challenge As the Chief Financial Officer you will support the executive leadership team to ensure the business receives a transparent view of company performance and advise to drive strategic outcomes.

You will support consultancy segments to drive improvements and deliver a long-term corporate planning model. 

Leading a growing team across Finance and IT, the CFO is a high profile senior executive role with excellent potential to put your footprint on the future direction of the business and directly drive domestic and international growth initiatives. Other key focusses include: 

Build and maintain a robust long term corporate model Development of tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to drive key strategic decision-makingManagement of liquidity and cashflow forecasting and reporting Oversee cash, investment and asset management to maximise return on investment Management of information systems including ongoing review of system capabilities to support and compliment the growth of the business This is a hands-on CFO role managing a broad remit including maintaining, improving and developing of overall compliance frameworks, budgeting and long-term planning as well as the ability to build strategic business cases for key commercial decision-making with the aim of growing the business

The Expertise

This opportunity is appropriate for a current CFO with previous experience in high-growth private equity owned portfolio businesses where you have demonstrated the ability to lead growth initiatives. It is a preference that you may have worked in professional services environments such as labour hire, engineering, architecture, accounting or legal practice, medical services and/or property/ construction. Furthermore it is likely you will possess:

Extensive CFO experience in PE backed, SME growth environmentsPrevious experience partnering with a founder CEOProven capability to develop and lead close-knit, high performance Finance and IT teamsDeep cashflow management and long-term planning experience The presence and communication skills to successfully support and report to board and PE ownerYou love being a change and process improvement agent and are motivated to make a real impact on the business  The Next Step
