Role Confident and experienced in the use of hand and power tools to carry out general maintenance/repairs and grounds keeping works to a high standard Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with tradespeople, suppliers, school staff and students Proficient use of email and Windows software and the ability to learn the use of internal maintenance request systems. A strong work ethic, eye for detail and a sense of pride in efficiently completing work to a high standard as well as the ability to work independently and to follow instructions and take direction Ability to identify and assess hazards and risks that may impact on the school community including all students, staff, contractors and visitors Eligible for or holds an Employee Working With Children

Responsibilities Undertake works using best practice techniques and procedures while maintaining a safe workplace for students and staff in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004. Be familiar with completing JSAs, SWMS and risk assessments for works as required. Be familiar or prepared to learn and use, update Department systems such as emergency management system , PRISM etc. Assist the Facilities Manager to coordinate contractors and ensure all contractors are compliant with site requirements. Ensure the school buildings, grounds and surrounds are kept safe, clean and tidy. Undertake minor plumbing, welding, carpentry, gardening and landscaping works as required Inspecting school buildings and grounds daily. Maintain the safety, cleanliness and appearance of all external areas including paths and hard surfaces Ensure the maintenance of all school tools and maintenance/grounds equipment. Undertake small building projects Assist with the moving of furniture and equipment as required. Assist in ensuring classrooms and furniture are in good order. Removal of graffiti Minor repairs to doors, locks, windows, furniture, fixtures and fittings Provide regular feedback to the Facilities Manger to ensure standards are maintained and opportunities for improvement of all facilities are identified. The ability to cooperate with and effectively assist trades and contractors to achieve optimum outcomes. Other duties outside the scope listed from time to time, as directed by the Facilities Manager or Principal Team Trade experience or qualification preferred. It was established in 2020 with the first students beginning in 2021 varying from Foundation to Year 6. The school has an Early Learning Centre next door and will work together through transition programs for the benefit of the students.

The school grounds have been landscaped with native trees and shrubs whilst the buildings are brand new. There are 2 main learning areas that are architecturally designed for modern 21st Century learning. The learning spaces are flexible and allow for a variety of teaching opportunities that best suit the student¿s needs. The Administration building also includes a Library, Art room, Food Technology room and Science room. A full sized gym with basketball court, music room and canteen completes the modern facilities that make up Ramlegh Park Primary School.

Ramlegh Park Primary School strives for high academic learning for all students and uses the Victorian Curriculum which describes what students should learn from Foundation to Year 10.
