Senior Manager Flight Operations Technical

Job Description We are looking for an experienced pilot and aviation expert to join our Airborne Solutions team at Leidos, who is passionate about supporting the management of operational compliance and safety and the technical aspects of our flying operations. Working in a highly dynamic environment, this role will require you to interact with our crew, aircraft manufacturers, regulators and technical service providers and provide technical advice to all parts of the business regarding development activities. You will also be responsible for managing our team of technical pilots and compliance specialists. Reporting directly to the Head of Flight Operations, you will also: Manage technical matters, regulatory compliance, procedures and standards Review, develop and maintain operational procedures across the company Work across teams within the broader business to establish operational efficiency upgrades Engage in initiatives to improve pilot attraction, training and retention Provide 24 hour operational advice when acting as duty pilot As our Senior Manager of Flight Ops Technical, you will own and implement a number of operational improvements across the business. Qualifications What we need (Essential): Australian ATPL Proven aviation management and leadership capability Comprehensive understanding of Australian civil aviation legislation Demonstrated experience in developing operating procedures and applying in-depth knowledge of specific aircraft types 2000 hours multi-crew experience 1000 hours multi-crew command Australian Citizen Ability to hold an AGSVA clearance and ESC Desirable: Prior experience as operator key personnel Experience in aviation project management (e.g. type entry into service) Flight Examiner Rating or Pilot Instructor Rating Dash 8 or Bombardier business jet type rating Additional Information Open to candidates based in Melbourne, Darwin, Broome, Cairns and Perth Other capital city locations will be considered for suitably experienced applicants This is a Full-time, permanent role. Applicants may also need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
