Senior Electrical Engineer (Power Systems)

The Opportunity The WSP Program Delivery team has had a long association with the delivery of essential services to remote Aboriginal communities in Western Australiaand works closely with WA Government agencies and regional service providers to manage the delivery of these services.WSP also supports the design and delivery of capital works programs to manage program risks and to improve infrastructure in remote locations throughout WA.

We are now seeking to expand our internal power and project management capabilities to support the management and upgrade of infrastructure in remote communities, with a focus on power supply system assets including:

·Power station buildings & ancillary equipment

·generation equipment

·Hybrid and renewable systems

·Distribution systems (LV & HV)

·Remote monitoring and control systems.

WSP is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced person with relevant Engineering qualifications and experience in Project Management and Contract Administration.The position is Perth-based with the potential for occasional travel to remote sites.

We'd love to hear from you if you have: The ideal candidate would meet all, or most of the below criteria:

Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical Engineering. Sound knowledge of relevant Australian and Western Australian standards. Demonstrated understanding of power systems (generation, transmission and distribution) including design, construction, operation, maintenance and system operation. Demonstrated proficiency in using power system analysis tools and protection system modelling, including PowerFactory software, and the analysis, interpretation and presentation of results. Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills. Ability to review technical reports and electrical designs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, Project management and contract administration experience, including experience in the tendering, procurement, cost control and management of design-and-construct projects under relevant Australian standards. Knowledge of Asset Management Systems and Frameworks, including maintenance planning and asset renewal. Remote and/or Aboriginal community infrastructure experience (desirable).
