We have a full-time position of Editor/Writer based Sydney for a German Press Agency news provider. The position is working in a competitive news environment where excellent writing, speed and good knowledge of global affairs are crucial.
SKILLS The ability to recognize and develop newsworthy stories of global interest and write in German accurately under pressureGerman at the level of a German native and professional journalistStrong organizational skillsTertiary QualificationAt least two years of full-time editing experience in the news mediaFlexibility and openness to working in the evenings and on weekendsAdvanced-level professional competency in English languageDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, coordinate and drive the coverage of stories from all over the worldTranslate and edit English language stories from reporters in the field into German to get accurate news to the wire quicklyCommunicate with our desk in BerlinManage our website, communicate with our clients, select photos, tweet breaking newsSALARY The position is a great opportunity for an internationally minded journalist who wants to produce up-to-the-minute news stories for a global audience within a modern newsroom environment. The salary offered will be $70,000 to $80,000 per annum.
