Sustainability Manager - Sydney Metro, Western Sydney Airport CPB Contractors in joint venture with Ghella have been selected by the NSW Government to deliver the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport Station Boxes and Tunnelling Works (WSA-SBT). The project will involve the design and construction of a new metro tunnel around 9.8 kilometres in length between St Marys in the north and the Aerotropolis Core precinct in the south. 

The design and construction scope includes the following: 

two sections of twin running, tunnel boring machines, tunnels with a total combined length of approximately 9.8 km, plus associated portal dive structures and tunnel support activities station box excavations with temporary ground support at St Marys, Orchard Hills, Western Sydney Airport Terminal, Western Sydney Aerotropolis and two intermediate service facilities, one in each of the tunnel sections. Major works commenced in 2022 and will continue until 2025. 

Your opportunity We are accepting applications for an experienced Sustainability Manager to join our iconic and once in a generation project in Sydney's West 

The key responsibilities of the role include: Review and implementation of the Sustainability Plan.Reporting on sustainability performance, including tracking metrics against the Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) Rating tool and contractual requirements.Working in collaboration with the design, procurement and construction teams and disciplines to embed sustainability into project delivery.Undertaking technical sustainability assessments to inform key design and procurement decisions - energy and carbon analysis, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and water balance analysis.Undertake investigations into alternatives and innovations to drive sustainability outcomes on the project.The primary contact on sustainability matters.To be considered you will have: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science.Ideally Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (current member) with Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia.Ideally Qualified Green Star Accredited Professional (current member) with Green Building Council of Australia.5+ years' sustainability management experience, with previous experience in the provision of sustainability advice on the design and construction of engineering.Significant technical expertise in sustainability management for tenders, design and site-based construction issues.Availability to work full-time during the Project and be full-time on or around the Construction Site during the construction phase.Proven capacity to build stakeholder relationships and influence at all levels.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience working on a construction project is highly desirable.
