This role will see you responsible for the analysis, modelling and technical advice on traffic engineering principles for developments.

The position requires a thorough understanding of development assessment, and a knowledge base of Civil or Environmental Engineering, civil works design, planning legislation and the priorities surrounding these, along with consultation skills and experience. This position is a lead role which provides advice, support and mentoring to a professional and highly skilled team, within a large growing Local Government area.

You will also be key in providing input in relation to planning and strategic proposals with consideration of the safety of all road users and performance of the proposed and existing road network.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include: Investigate and Develop strategies for improvements to the road networkReview concept or detail engineering designs and cost estimates for specific major projects to current design requirementsProvide advice to internal and external stakeholders Assist and/or undertake the review of or creation of traffic and/or road safety related planning controls and policies.Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional developmentCurrent Class C Driver's LicenceConstruction General Induction Card Experience in assessing and reporting on traffic and parking mattersExperience in road traffic and intersection design, and assessmentDemonstrated experience in preparing complex traffic studies, traffic modelling, modelling of intersections (SIDRA preferably) and cost estimating for civil engineering worksExperience working in Local GovernmentAn innovative approach to the application & understanding of relevant guidelines for traffic generation and the application of traffic engineering principles and road safety principlesAbility to make sound judgements in assessing impacts of all types of proposed developments on the road network and in applying engineering design guidelines for the installation of appropriate traffic engineering principlesAbility to ensure that methods, software and procedures used in traffic modelling and planning are in keeping with current professional standards and are appropriate to CCC's needsStrong analytical skillsWhat we offer: weekly pay cyclegenerous Leave Provisions: 20 days paid Annual Leave, 15 days Sick Leave/Carers Leave, Health & Wellbeing Leave, Long Service Leave after 5 years, Additional purchased leave, Parental Leave - 18 weeks full pay/36 weeks ½ pay, Paternity Leave - 2 weeksnovated leasing programEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) available to employees and their familiesFitness Passport - access to gyms across the Central Coast and NewcastleHealth and wellbeing programs - skin cancer screening, Breast screen, Flu vaccination, blood donations;Recognition of Serviceindividual career development and learning opportunitiesReward and Recognition program.This role provides a commencing salary range of between $96.3k to $127.5k per annum dependent on skills and experience (inclusive of Market Loading) + 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance + 11% superannuation.
