Closes: 01 May 2024 Classification: Board/Committee/Council Position No: ACT Road Safety Advisory Board Directorate: Advertised (Gazettal date): 12 April 2024 Contact Officer: Lynn Spratt on The Road Safety Advisory Board (the Board) is a non-statutory body, comprising an ACT Government executive as chair, and appointment of nominees from ACT CTP insurers, three road user representatives and two road safety experts (including a representative from ACT Policing).The Board is responsible for advising the Minister on road safety issues in the ACT and the use of funds from the ACT Road Safety Fund.Members will be appointed for a term of three years, commencing December 2024.Job descriptionThis Expression of Interest seeks nomination of the following positions:One (1) road safety expert (e.g. academic, engineer, policy maker)Three (3) road user representatives with specific expertise in one or more category's:Active travel (pedestrians, cyclists)MotorcyclistsMotoristsRelevant industry (eg. heavy vehicles, driver training)Young/novice drivers/ridersOlder drivers/riders Please see the attached capability matrix for further description of capabilities that are required for Board members.A person is eligible to be appointed as a member of the ACT Road Safety Advisory Board where the Minister is satisfied that the person has the relevant experience or expertise to undertake the role.
