Reporting into the Head of Commercial and Portfolio Management Office within the Service Futures Group, the Service Futures Resource Planning Lead will drive impactful change across Service Futures whilst optimising productivity. The Service Futures Group brings together customer experience, business process design, and technology to deliver end to end solutions leading to productivity and experience benefits for both the customer and employee.

The Resource Planning Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining the end-to-end resourcing capability and capacity plan for Yarra Valley Water's (YVW) technology and business improvement portfolio, aligning with the Enterprise Portfolio Delivery Framework. This role optimises resource deployment to maximise workload delivery by considering skills, career progression, upskilling potential, technical and personal development, and diversity.

Key Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility include:

Manage, monitor and optimise group resource allocation and scheduling to ensure efficient deployment and assess impacts on portfolio delivery. Manage and monitor staff proportional costing and time tracking to enable accurate effort allocation for current and future demands. Refine, and govern resource management methods and processes within Service Futures, ensuring successful delivery of the portfolio while achieving desired outcomes. Assess current resources and devise both short-term and long-term workforce strategies aligned with our strategic portfolio to maximize delivery. Serve as the primary resource management contact, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, providing guidance, and facilitating resource meetings to address gaps, changes, and future needs, ensuring optimal deployment. Cascade Resource Management principles, conduct training and promote the value in effective Resource Management Create and provide analysis, insights and commentary on performance aligned to resourcing metrics and identify areas of improvement to optimise talent utilisation and improve the efficiency and performance of resources. About you Seasoned professional with experience in Resource Management and Workforce Planning/Scheduling, demonstrating a track record of successful recruitment and resource optimization. Recognized as a strategic thinker with strong analytical abilities, adept at synthesizing complex data to inform decision-making and drive organizational objectives. Possess exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with individuals at all levels of management, utilizing tailored approaches and effective communication to foster collaboration and achieve results. Proficient in a range of software tools including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Power BI, leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. Equipped with hands-on experience in MS Project or similar Project Portfolio Management tools, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a demonstrated ability to prepare, interpret, and analyze data and reports with precision. Additionally, experienced in facilitating discussions and workshops, ensuring productive collaboration and decision-making. You're someone who challenges themselves with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and you bring an enthusiastic and solution focused attitude whilst bringing stakeholders on the journey.
