The Senior Project Manager is responsible and accountable for ensuring that the defined project scope is achieved within the budget, timescale and quality standards specified by our customer, whilst developing our people, processes and tools to grow the business.

What you will be doing … Manage the customer relationship through effective internal and external communications and reporting. Manage projects to deliver the agreed scope within the required timeframe and cost. Lead, motivate and manage project team personnel to instil a commitment to project financial, schedule and technical goals. Guide the development of project scope, the definition of work scope activities and implement scope controls. Plan and implement the project schedule, monitor and assess performance, and implement corrective actions as required to meet delivery expectations. Plan, monitor and control project costs to achieve budget expectations and prepare monthly financial and project status reports for internal and external stakeholders. Manage project resources through effective resource planning, staff training and development, and assess staff performance. Oversee supply chain procurement activities to ensure quality and performance requirements are met. Identify and manage the alleviation of project risks and the realisation of project opportunities. Participate in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Are you able to demonstrate the following personal attributes? Demonstrated ability to think and operate strategically with a focus on business strategic goals. Demonstrated experience in successfully leading design and development projects for the Australian Defence customer. Sound understanding of PMBOK Project Management principles. Must have knowledge of DEF(AUST) 5664A Work Breakdown Structures. Knowledge of AS ISO 31000 Risk Management Guidelines and AS/NZS 4360 Risk Management. Well-developed communication skills and a demonstrated experience in successful customer management. Skilled in the use of MS Project or Open Plan Professional. Demonstrated ability to perform in areas: scheduling, budgeting/cost control, financial reporting, interpersonal skills and customer relationships. Skilled with the use of MS Word, Excel and Visio. Demonstrated commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures and practices. Substantial familiarity with Earned Value Measurement techniques and the Australian Defence standard for Cost Schedule Control System (CSCS) reporting. Do you have … At least 10 years' overall experience in successfully delivering complex electronic systems capabilities to Defence. Hold an Engineering or Computer Science Bachelor Degree or equivalent. Substantial familiarity with the technical regulatory framework and governance requirements imposed by the Australian Defence Organisation. Minimum level of Certified Practicing Project Practitioner.
