We have an exceptional opportunity for a tech-savvy Category Manager to join our Tech & Electronics divisions within the Purchasing team! Looking after our iconic tech and consumer electronics product range, we're looking for a commercial and outcomes focused Category Manager to continue curating our product offering, ensuring our customers benefit from the trending and most in-demand products in the market.

Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, this role will suit an emerging Category Manager, enabling direct ownership of a category portfolio, developing exciting new products, partnering with suppliers and keeping on top of market trends to provide our customers with high quality products at unbeatable value.

If you're an ambitious, driven and career-focused Assistant Buyer / Category Assistant / Junior Category Manager looking to step up and challenge yourself, or have a couple of years as a Category Manager / Buyer and are familiar with category ownership and P/L responsibilities, this is a brilliant opportunity to utilise your sourcing and buying expertise within a leading, ASX listed eCommerce business, and turn your passion for product into an exceptional offering for our customer!

In this role you'll be responsible for:Identifying commercial opportunities for category expansion including sourcing and developing new productsEngaging with key suppliers of internationally renowned brands and Kogan.com's very own Exclusive BrandsManaging and engaging with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to build effective working relationships and achieve optimal outcomesEnsuring the most efficient logistics, warehousing and shipping options are chosen for each productMaximising profitability of all products, through a deep and thorough understanding of your category and the industryBeing proactive, innovative and striving to continually develop your category for our customersActively negotiating the best possible trading terms and pricesDrive and control price changes across our different sales channelsEnsuring timely introduction of new products, efficient management of current and future inventory and ensuring timely fulfilment of customer demandActively manage and monitor inventory levels to achieve your category's goals and KPIs. This includes forward forecasting, planning promotional activity and actively reacting to market conditions.Monitoring performance and completing range reviews across your category and recommending corrective actions to maximize your category's commercial outcomes.Partnering with the Marketing & Promotions teams to ensure product listings are well merchandised and discoverable to support the customer journey To be successful in this role, you should be:University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Commerce, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or similar)Have experience with Category ownership, at either an Assistant / Junior / Category Manager level, preferably within an eCommerce, Retail or FMCG environment. Experience with Tech & Electronics categories will be highly regardedComfortable building and maintaining effective relationships, through effective communication and vendor engagementHighly analytical and possess commercial nous, be able to recognise opportunity and make quick decisions for the best commercial outcomes, so that we can offer market-leading value to our customers.Possess a blend of analytical negotiation, strategic thinking, problem-solving and having a solutions-focused growth mindsetComfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
