Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Dental Officer to join the team at Townsville Oral Health Services located in Kirwan Health Campus. This position is on a permanent full-time basis and sits within our Women's and Children's Service Group. Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for more than 250,000 people across a geographic area of 150,000km 2 , delivering a comprehensive range of services across 21 facilities, from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.
The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality oral health services within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. The Townsville Hospital and Health Service vision is world-class healthcare for northern Queensland.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Dental Officer to be a part of the clinical team within the Townsville Oral Health Service. This opportunity would suit an individual who is organised, highly motivated, shows initiative, exhibits diligence, is self-motivated and enjoys working within the public health system. This role would suit someone who is passionate about preventative dentistry, who is self-motivated, enjoys working as part of a team and ultimately values high quality patient centred care in an efficient and effective way.
The TOHS has adult and child-based clinics/chairs which are located at the Townsville University Hospital, Kirwan Health Campus, North Ward Health Campus, Joyce Palmer Health Service, Ingham Health Services, Ayr Hospital, Charters Towers Health Centre, Hughenden Hospital, Richmond Health Service, Men's and Women's Correctional Services and Cleveland Youth Detention Centre. Services are delivered from fixed dental clinics, School Dental mobile vans and fixed school dental clinics across the region. The TOHS provides services for eligible child and adult patients with complex medical and/or oral health conditions, including dental treatment under general anaesthesia, head and neck cancer services, pre-cardiac surgery patient's, orthodontic services, nursing home services and special needs services as well as the community of refugees in Townsville.
Role requirement Mandatory:Appointment to this position requires possession of a tertiary qualification in dentistry from a recognised institution and current registration with the Dental Board of Australia.Possession of a current licence to operate a radiation source for Dental Diagnostic Radiography (intra oral).There is a requirement that all dental practitioners are credentialed and have their scope of clinical practice defined with Qld Health before commencing employment and throughout employment with Qld Health. Please refer to the Role Description for further details. Generous remuneration package value up to $165,605 p.a. comprising:
Salary rates between $4755.90 - $5563.40 p.f.
