Due to a strong pipeline of exciting large-scale new energy projects, an opportunity is now available for a Technical Consultant, Water Engineer to join our Water Resources team in Sydney, a diverse team of hydrologists, water engineers and hydrogeologists. We deliver water management solutions for our clients as an independent service line as well as part of larger multidisciplinary teams on a broad range of exciting projects. We are industry leaders who partner with our clients to deliver some of the most technically challenging water projects across Australia and internationally. We strive to enhance our client's projects through integrating best practice water stewardship principles supported by technical excellence.

What you'll do Responsibilities will include:  Under the direction of the Lead Water Resources Engineer within the Group:

Apply best practice engineering and investigation skills to solve open channel flow problems, develop floodplain management solutions and conceptually design river engineering works including the design of bank stabilisation systems and hydraulic structures. Undertake hydrologic analysis with reference to best practice outlined in Australian Rainfall & Runoff Develop, apply and interpret mathematical models in the assessment of hydraulic processes using the range of available software, including RMA-2, TUFLOW, MIKE Flood and HEC-RAS Prepare investigation reports and provide investigation advice, including flood studies, flood impact assessments and floodplain management studies Manage direct dealings with Customer and professionally and confidently interact with public stakeholders on floodplain management issues, as required at public presentations. Assist in the management of Graduate and Level 1 Engineer team members. Assist in the project management of selected projects and consultants/ sub consultants. Leadership of HSE in all project and day to day activities.  Demonstrate leadership and commitment to the OneWay Framework and expectations. Proactively initiate and develop strong relationships with our Customers through business development and by delivering consulting advice and solutions to the highest standard within budget and timeframes Proactively initiate and develop strong relationships with our Customers through business development and by delivering consulting advice and solutions to the highest standard within budget and timeframes What you'll have: Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering, focussed on water resources engineering including hydrology and open channel hydraulics Not less than 6 years experience in undertaking hydrology and open channel flow hydraulics projects, including the use of hydrological models such as RORB, RAFTS and WBNM and hydraulic software such as RMA-2, MIKE Flood, TUFLOW and HEC-RAS Experience with Geographic Information Systems, data analysis and presentation software including MapInfo or ArcGIS Experience with supervising junior engineers in investigation of hydraulic engineering problems.
