The Opportunity As a Financial Controller at Pet Circle you will be instrumental in setting our business up to succeed in a high growth environment as we scale, from improving processes and ensuring we have the correct systems and capabilities needed to achieve our growth ambitions.You willhave a commercial outlook to your approach and have the opportunity to lead and grow a high performing finance team. Your Responsibilities • Ownership of all activities within the accounting function including management and financial reporting, transaction processing, payroll and tax and compliance activities • Leading, mentoring and growing our Financial Operations team • Coordinating and supporting insightful reporting across the business • Managing cash, working capital and foreign exchange to maximise returns • Contributing to the budgeting and forecasting process as required • Initiating, assisting and leading in functional, cross company projects, analysis and reporting where needed • Designing scalable and commercially viable systems and processes to improve the impact of the Financial Operations team What Success Looks Like • You will be a transparent and commercial leader growing and developing a commercially minded team • Streamlining processes such as the month-end reporting function, adapting processes and systems to create a highly efficient function producing fast, accurate, relevant information • Implementing Financial Controls across the business that achieve the delicate balance of mitigating risk while encouraging swift decision making across the company Your Ideal Experience • You are efficiency obsessed with a commercial mindset and a desire to add value through-out the organisation5+ years' experience in a senior finance role • Previous experience managing a remote team (this includes assessing productivity and impact and keeping the team engaged) Exceptional attention to detail • Demonstrated ability to proactively generate positive change at the finance and an organisation • Experience in a retail environment accounting for inventory (ideal)Excellent communication, stakeholder management and team-building skills • Previous success in streamlining accounting systems and processes (ideal) • Advanced system skills including hands on Accounting / ERP skills (Dynamics Business Central ideal) and Microsoft Office including Excel • Exposure to commercial contract review/negotiation Role Location At Pet Circle we believe that collaboration and team connection is key for success.
