Job Description  Documentation Strategy: Develop and implement documentation strategies aligned with organisational goals and user needs. Define standards, processes, and tools for creating, managing, and delivering documentation effectively.

Documentation Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify documentation requirements for products, projects, or processes. Create documentation plans outlining objectives, scope, timelines, and resource allocation.

Content Creation: Oversee the creation, writing, editing, and organization of various types of documentation, including user guides, manuals, technical specifications, API documentation, release notes, and online help systems.

Content Management: Establish and maintain a centralised repository or content management system (CMS) for storing, versioning, and accessing documentation assets. Ensure documentation is easily searchable, accessible, and up-to-date.

Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, clarity, and completeness of documentation. Review and edit content to comply with style guidelines, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

User Experience (UX): Advocate for user-centric documentation practices. Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve the clarity, accessibility, and usefulness of documentation for target audiences.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project coordinators, software developers, UX designers, technical writers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to gather information, validate content, and ensure alignment with product development cycles.

Training and Support : Develop training materials and resources to educate internal teams, customers, and partners on product features, functionalities, and best practices. Provide ongoing support and guidance to users seeking assistance with documentation.

Documentation Localisation: Coordinate the localisation and translation of documentation for global audiences. Manage translation workflows, linguistic assets, and language-specific variants while maintaining consistency and accuracy.

Documentation Metrics and Analytics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of documentation efforts. Analyze usage data, feedback, and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical communication, English, journalism, information science, or a related field.

Writing and Editing Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with software documentation tools, markup languages (e.g., Markdown, XML), and version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience with some kind of documentation authoring tools is desirable.

Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) is a plus.

Collaboration and Communication: Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Experience working in distributed or remote teams is advantageous.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in documentation.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and make data-driven decisions to improve documentation processes and practices.

Customer Focus: Customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of user needs, preferences, and behaviors. Experience gathering user feedback and incorporating it into documentation improvements.

Our ideal candidate's experience and capabilities As our ideal candidate, you will be able to tick all (or a number) of the boxes below:

Must be familiar with NDIS, Aged Care and Allied Health. Must have good analytical and problem solving skills. 1-3 years experience in documentation role within the tech product environment Experience in working with cross-functional teams to deliver project or service outcomes, requiring the flow of tasks through technical development or analytics teams An understanding of project management methodologies or processes Experience in developing and maintaining project documentation to a high standard Organised and adaptable Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective stakeholder management and conflict resolution Effective time and priority management, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to develop collaborative relationships with other team members Detail and action oriented Be a team player willing to strive to deliver exceptional results. An understanding of, or passion for, data and how it can positively impact business Must have rights to work in Australia Location This is on-site in Melbourne to start with but can become full time role for the right candidate, we'd prefer candidates who live in the Melbourne area as we value face to face time and come to office on a daily basis. No Work from Home at this stage.

Benefits The successful applicant will be offered: 

A 6 months contract full-time role with a competitive salary to suit experience. Full training and support to achieve goals. Monday to Friday with core hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm daily.
